AfterShokz has harnessed something truly special, and it has redesigned music listening with its open-ear bone conduction headphones.
When an idea is truly ahead of its generation, sometimes it takes the public a little time to adjust enough to understand it. Fortunately, in this day and age, innovative thinkers are celebrated and elevated. Oprah is one such personality, a woman who does things her way, thinks outside the box, and admires when a new idea follows the same principles.
Specifically, the first-ever “Wow List” in O Magazine targets and highlights such ideas; they are things that really blow the public away because they are miles ahead of everything else. And now our AfterShokz Sportz M2 open-ear headphones have a spot on the list, at number 3. We’re excited that you’re excited.
The influential magazine says “Wow!” to “using bone conduction technology originally developed for military special ops, these headphones transmit music directly from your cheekbones to your inner ear, bypassing the eardrum—and leaving you free to crank up Nicki Minaj without drowning out voices or car horns.”
Ranking 3 out of 50, and making the list that graces the cover of the August 2013 issue of O Magazine is quite an honor, but we’d like to add that it doesn’t have to be Nicki Minaj (though we do love her jams!). Why not listen to, say, space lectures by astrophysicist Michio Kaku as you gaze into the starscape on a clear summer night, with the sounds of the crickets and the breeze in the trees still reaching your eardrums as well? We imagine the future might sound something like that.
Thanks, O Magazine! It’s nice to see that innovation, and bone conduction headphones, can enjoy immediate success in this day and age.
How does the future sound to you? Tell us about it on Facebook and Twitter, and keep checking the blog for new AfterShokz accolades!
