Recap: The 2016 AfterShokz Olympics

Here at AfterShokz, we’re no strangers to putting in extra hours to get the job done, but there’s certainly no shortage of fun in the office either. Sometimes you just gotta take your minds away from the craziness we call “life," and battle against co-workers with minute-to-win-it challenges that’ll leave everyone with a side stitch for a week from laughter. Our awesome team at AfterShokz recently grew by 3, and The AfterShokz Olympics were the perfect opportunity to expose our true selves to the newbies.

A team that works well together is more effective, more productive, and more successful, so when opportunity to plan a team building day came knocking, we turned to the always-reliable YouTube for inspiration! Team Red faced Team Blue through 12 grueling challenges including streamer, gumball and pantyhose races. Not to toot our own horn, but this team building day did not suck.

Let’s take a walk through a few highlights…

If you need any pointers on how to get an Oreo from your forehead to your mouth without using anything but your face muscles, Brand Manager Chelsea can help.

Graphic Design Lead Chelsea using only her face muscles to try getting an Oreo from her forehead to her mouth.

What about a race with windmill arms to get to the end of 2 streamer rolls? This may shock you, but COO Bill outshone Office Mom Mary in this one.

If you ever find yourself caught with your arms stuck in some pantyhose, unable to use your other arm to help free yourself, CMO Kim is the girl to get you out of that bind.

The AfterShokz Olympics stakes were high, with the losing team needing to wait on the winning team hand-and-foot for the remainder of the week. It was not for a lack of effort that Team Red handed over the trophy to the Blue Team at the end of the day.

We were a tight knit group before racing to throw a ping pong ball on a slice of peanut buttered bread, but taking the day to get away from the craziness of a rapidly growing business was much needed and much appreciated by our whole team!
