Your Guide for Using OpenFit 2+

Your Guide for Using OpenFit 2+

If you just purchased the all-new OpenFit 2+ and you’re wondering how to get the most out of your new earbuds, you’ve come to the right place. The OpenFit 2+ builds on its predecessor with 2 key upgrades: Dolby Audio and wireless charging capability. In this article we’ll cover all the basic controls and capabilities, from button functionality to wireless charging and multipoint pairing, so that you can unlock the full potential of OpenFit 2+.

How to wear

With its Ultra-Soft SiliconeTM 2.0 design, the OpenFit 2+ is built to be comfortable and secure, but also super easy to wear. Start by taking the earbuds out of the case and positioning them so that the end of the hook is level with the rim of your ear. Then, gently rotate the earbuds clockwise, allowing the hook to slide behind and gently curl around your outer ear while the core fits snugly against the inside. And that’s it! You’re now ready to enjoy your favorite audio.

Earbud Controls

The OpenFit 2+ has just 2 buttons: the Touch Area, located on the flat part of the core, just beside the printed Shokz logo; and the Physical Button on the earbuds, located on the side of the core, just below the printed Shokz logo. The Physical Buttons control music, incoming calls, and volume.

Music Control

You can play or pause a song with a single click, skip to the next song with a double-click, and return to the previous song with a triple-click. If the volume is too low, press and hold the button on the right earbud to turn up the sound; conversely, use the left earbud to lower the sound.

Call Control

If there’s an incoming call, just press the button once to answer, and press it again to hang up. A double-click will ignore the call and send it to voicemail.

Let’s say you’re in the middle of an activity and unable to manually scroll through your device. No problem! Audrey, your Shokz voice assistant, can help you out. To use this feature, press and hold the Touch Area until you hear her voice. Please note that this is not a default setting; it needs to be activated through the Shokz App.

Dolby Audio

This range of technologies enhances your listening experience by amplifying the richness, depth, and clarity of the audio while also creating a more immersive soundscape. It’s like being in your own private studio. Hear every beat and every nuance in vivid detail, and get the most out of your entertainment with each listen.

You can activate and deactivate Dolby Audio in the Shokz App. Before doing so, just be sure that your earbuds are connected to your phone.

Wireless Charging

The charging case for OpenFit 2+ supports Qi-certified wireless charging. To set it up, first connect the charging pad to a power source and make sure it’s working properly. Next, place the case in the center of the charging pad, with the logo facing up. If the case isn’t properly aligned with the charging contacts on the pad, it may not charge at all, or may charge very slowly and inefficiently.

While the case is charging, the indicator light will be a solid orange. It’ll turn green once the case is fully charged, at which point you can take the case off the pad and use your earbuds as needed.

Multipoint Pairing

With Multipoint Pairing, you can effortlessly switch between two devices. Upon opening the charging case for the first time, your OpenFit 2+ will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode and the Indicator will flash orange and green alternately. To complete the pairing process, open the Bluetooth settings page on your device and select “OpenFit 2+ by Shokz.”

If you ever need to re-enter pairing mode, simply place both earbuds back into the charging case, then press and hold the Charging Case Button for 3 seconds until the Indicator flashes orange and green automatically.

To connect a second device, open the Shokz App and select the “MultiPoint Pairing” option. A pop-up will confirm that you want to activate this function. After doing so, select the “Connect to the Second Device” option and follow the instructions to complete the process.

With your earbuds paired to two devices, you can easily manage their Bluetooth connections through the Shokz App.

Switching EQ modes

Your OpenFit 2+ is equipped with four EQ modes. Standard Mode provides a balanced frequency and is ideal for listening to music on a daily basis. Vocal Mode enhances the mid frequencies and is better suited for listening to audiobooks, podcasts, and the like.

Bass Boost, on the other hand, enhances the low frequencies and is designed for more rhythmic music, while Treble Boost enhances the high frequencies, making it best suited for lighter, more relaxing music.

To toggle between any of these EQ modes, press and hold both Volume Buttons while music is playing until you hear a beep. You can also do this through the Shokz App.

Download Shokz App

To get the most out of your new OpenFit 2+, we suggest you download the Shokz App. It allows you to switch between EQ modes, enable Dolby Audio, manage MultiPoint Pairing, check your battery levels in real time, and so much more. You can get firmware updates immediately via the app and also find lost earbuds using the one-click ringing feature.

To further customize your audio experience, you can create your own EQ mode and personalize the control system to match your preferences. This means you can change the button controls for things like playing or pausing music, skipping tracks, or adjusting prompt volume. There’s simply no better way to explore the various features of your OpenFit 2+ than by downloading the Shokz app.
