Introduction
Congratulations on your new OpenSwim Pro headphones! Whether you're diving into the pool or hitting the track, mastering these tips will allow you to get the most out of your new purchase and enhance your overall listening experience. In this article we’ll cover all the basics, from button functionality to charging tips, and we’ll even discuss more advanced capabilities, like multipoint pairing. The OpenSwim Pro is a world of power, both in and out of the water, and these guidelines will help you unlock its full potential.
Function of Buttons
There are three main buttons on the OpenSwim Pro: the two Volume buttons (+ and -), located beside the magnetic charging port, and the Multifunction button, located on the outside of the left earphone. With their intuitive design, one click allows you to access a whole set of functions.
The Volume + button also doubles as a power button. To turn on your headphones, press and hold the power button for 2 seconds until the LED light flashes blue. Conversely, to turn them off, simply press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the LED light flashes red.
In order to check the battery level, first make sure that you’re in standby mode, and then press the Volume + or Volume - buttons. You can adjust the volume during playback using these same buttons.
The Multifunction button will allow you to control all other aspects of your music playback. You can play/pause with a single click, skip to the next song with a double-click, and return to the previous song with a triple-click. You can also use the same button to answer and end calls. Just press it once to answer, and press it again to hang up.
Switching Between Modes and MP3 File Transfer
Switching between MP3 and Bluetooth Mode is quick and easy. All you need to do is press and hold the Volume + and Volume - buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds until you hear the prompt tone. You can also do this through the Shokz app, which allows you to redefine the buttons if you so choose.
Your OpenSwim Pro headphones are equipped with 3 EQ modes. In Bluetooth, there’s standard mode and vocal booster mode. The former provides a balanced frequency for listening to music while the latter provides enhanced intermediate frequencies for audiobooks, podcasts, etc.
In MP3, there’s also a standard mode, in which the frequency band is balanced for non-underwater scenarios, as well as a swimming mode. This is specially crafted for swimming, and we recommend using earplugs to complement your listening experience.
To switch between EQ modes, simply press and hold the Volume - button for 2 seconds while music is playing until you hear the prompt tone. You can also do this through the Shokz App.
Need to transfer MP3 files to your new OpenSwim Pro? No problem. Start by connecting your headphones to your computer using the magnetic cable provided in the package. When a driver disk named "SWIM PRO" appears on your computer screen, open the disk and then drag and drop your audio files into it to begin the transfer process. The following formats are currently supported by OpenSwim Pro: MP3, FLAC, WMA, WAV, AAC, M4A, and APE. Once the transfer is finished, safely eject the disk from your computer to complete the process.
Downloading the Shokz App
To get the most out of your new OpenSwim Pro, we recommend you download the Shokz App. It allows you to check your battery life in real time, change EQ modes, manage multipoint pairing, switch the order of MP3 music playback, and so much more. Whenever there are firmware updates, you can be the first to upgrade via the app. It’s the best way to customize your audio experience and continue exploring the unique features of your OpenSwim Pro headphones.
Multipoint Pairing
With multipoint pairing, you can seamlessly switch between two devices. To start, make sure your headphones are powered off. Next, press and hold the Volume + button until Audrey says "pairing" and the LED flashes red and blue alternately.
Then, press and hold the multifunction button and Volume + button. When you hear a beep, open the first device’s Bluetooth menu and select "OpenSwim Pro by Shokz" to complete pairing.
For the second device, turn off your headphones once again and then re-enter pairing mode, holding the Volume + button until Audrey confirms "pairing" and the LED flashes red and blue alternately. Next, open the second device's Bluetooth menu and select "OpenSwim Pro by Shokz."
Once the device is successfully paired, turn off the headphones a final time. Your headphones will be connected to both devices when you turn them back on.
For easier management, you can also use the Shokz App, which provides a user-friendly interface for these tasks.
Charging Tips
Your new OpenSwim Pro headphones have up to 9 hours of battery life. When this level starts to get low, you’ll hear a “charge me” prompt and the red light will flash intermittently.
To charge, just plug the corresponding magnetic charging cable into a USB port and press it against the magnetic charging port on the headphones, located next to the Volume buttons. During the charging process, the LED indicator will turn red and the headphones will automatically turn off. When charging is complete, the LED indicator will turn from red to blue.
Please note that the headphones will automatically turn off after standing by for 2 hours in MP3 mode and 6 hours in Bluetooth mode. And remember, a quick 10-minute charge gives you 3 hours of listening time.
Resetting
In order to reset your OpenSwim Pro headphones, start by powering them off. To do this, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds until the LED light flashes red. Next, you’ll enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the Volume + button until you hear “pairing” and see the LED light flash red and blue alternately.
Finally, to complete the reset, press and hold all three buttons together – the Multifunction button, the Volume + and the Volume - buttons – until you hear a beep. At this point, turn your headphones off by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds. Once the LED light flashes red, your OpenSwim Pro has been reset.
Please note that resetting your OpenSwim Pro will require you to re-pair your Bluetooth device, though your audio files will remain intact. This reset can help resolve pairing or sound issues.
