Introduction
If you just purchased the all-new OpenRun Pro 2 and you’re wondering how to get the most out of your new purchase, you’ve come to the right place. In this article we’ll cover all the basics, from button functionality to charging tips, and we’ll also discuss more advanced features, like MultiPoint Pairing. The OpenRun Pro 2 offers an epic sound experience and mastering these tips will allow you to unlock its full potential.
Headphone Controls
There are three main buttons on the OpenRun Pro 2: the two Volume buttons (+ and -), located beside the USB-C charging port, and the Multifunction button, located on the outside of the left earphone.
The Volume + button also doubles as a power button. To turn on your headphones, press and hold the power button until the LED light flashes blue. You can do the same to turn them off. The LED light will flash red once powered down.
If you want to check the battery level, first make sure that audio isn’t playing. Then press the Volume + or Volume -. Audrey, your Shokz assistant, will respond with one of the following statuses: battery high, battery medium, battery low, or charge me. When audio is playing, you can adjust the volume using these same buttons.
The Multifunction button will allow you to control all other aspects of your music playback. You can play or pause with a single click, skip to the next song with a double-click, and return to the previous song with a triple-click. You can also use the Multifunction button to take calls. Just press it once to answer, and press it again to hang up.
MultiPoint Pairing
Using MultiPoint Pairing, you can effortlessly switch between two devices. To begin, first make sure your headphones are powered off. Next, press and hold the Volume + button until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED light flashes red and blue alternately.
Then, press and hold the Multifunction button and Volume + button. When you hear a beep, open the first device’s Bluetooth menu and select “OpenRun Pro 2 by Shokz” to complete pairing.
For the second device, turn off your headphones once again and then re-enter pairing mode by holding the Volume + button until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED light flashes red and blue alternately. Next, open the second device’s Bluetooth menu and select “OpenRun Pro 2 by Shokz.”
Once the second device is successfully paired, turn off the headphones one last time. When you turn them back on, your headphones will be connected to both devices.
For easier management, you can also set up MultiPoint Pairing using the Shokz App, which provides a user-friendly interface for these tasks.
Charging Tips
Your new OpenRun Pro 2 has up to 12 hours of battery life, and with a quick 5-minute charge, you can get an additional 2.5 hours of listening time. However, when the battery level starts to get low, you’ll hear a “charge me” prompt and the red light will flash intermittently.
To charge, use the USB-C charging cable and the corresponding port on the headphones, located next to the Volume buttons. During the charging process, the headphones will automatically turn off and the LED indicator will turn red. When charging is complete, the LED indicator will change from red to blue.
Switching EQ Modes
Your OpenRun Pro 2 is equipped with four EQ modes. Standard Mode provides a balanced frequency and is ideal for listening to music on a daily basis. Vocal Mode enhances the mid frequencies and is better suited for listening to audiobooks, podcasts, etc.
Bass Boost, on the other hand, enhances the low frequencies and is designed for music with a strong rhythm. And Treble Boost enhances the high frequencies, making it best suited for lighter, more relaxing music.
To switch between EQ modes, press and hold both Volume buttons while music is playing until you hear a beep. You can also do this through the Shokz App.
Resetting
Resetting your headphones is quick and easy. Start by powering them off. Next, you’ll enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the Volume + button until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED light flashes red and blue alternately.
Finally, press and hold all three buttons together – the Multifunction button, the Volume + and the Volume - buttons – until you hear a beep. Your OpenRun Pro 2 has now been reset.
Please note that this restores the headphones to the factory settings, so you will be required to re-pair your Bluetooth devices.
Downloading the Shokz App
To get the most out of your new headphones, we suggest you download the Shokz App. It allows you to change EQ modes, manage MultiPoint Pairing, check your battery levels in real time, and so much more.
