How to Clean and Disinfect Your Shokz Headphones

It seems like everyone right now is looking up ways to cleanse their entire life; people are taking more precautions than ever before, and cleaning products such as Lysol and Clorox are flying off the shelves. Because your Shokz headphones are in such close contact to your face during use, you may be wondering what the best way is to keep them clean and disinfected, especially after a particularly sweaty workout. Check out these recommendations on how and when to keep your Shokz clean. 

Everyday Cleaning: 

For average, everyday use and standard Shokz maintenance, we recommend wiping down your headphones with a soft, dry cloth after wear or after a workout. This will ensure you receive the best and longest use out of them. 

If you’ve gone on a particularly grueling run that day and feel like you need a little more heavy-duty cleaning, feel free to wipe your Shokz down with a damp cloth. Just make sure to dry them again after you’re done; not all of our models are waterproof (only OpenRun and OpenSwim), and no model should be plugged into the charger when wet! 

Disinfecting: 

If it’s been a while since you’ve thoroughly cleaned your headphones or you’ve recently lent them to a friend or family member, it’s probably time to do some headphone maintenance and deep cleaning! Our team recommends using a clean, damp cloth to clean your headphones thoroughly. Be sure to allow them to dry completely before using again or charging.

Avoid using disposable alcohol pads on your Shokz open ear headphones, as those chemicals can impact the waterproofing of your headphones.
