A Night of Sound, Style & Connection: Recapping the OpenDots 2 and OpenDots Air Launch Event

To celebrate the launch of the all-new OpenDots 2 and OpenDots Air, we invited a small group of creators and media professionals to the Sixth Floor Loft in Manhattan for an intimate evening of sound, style, and exploration.

From interactive activities to a customizable charm bar, participants got to experience the newest additions to the OpenDots series in a vibrant setting where movement, personal style, and self-expression were on full display.

The Vibe: Where Tech Meets Urban Elegance

The day’s fading sunlight poured in through the windows of Studio 2, an airy 2,000 square-foot loft of understated elegance, located in the heart of the Flatiron District. With its 15-foot ceilings and sun-washed brick walls, the venue felt like a fitting complement to the OpenDots story. Refined, intentional, and quietly premium.

Interactive Zones: Four Ways to Experience

The night started with some fun warm-up activities, moved into a short presentation on OpenDots 2 and OpenDots Air, then transitioned to the main event – the charm bar – before closing with photos and giveaways.

1. Opening Icebreaker: Sound Starts the Conversation

Guests were first invited to complete a six-question Music Persona Quiz. Based on their results, they were given a custom playlist that could be accessed via an NFC tag on a branded collectible patch. Guests then listened to each other’s playlists by scanning their tags.

Nearby, the Color-Sync Cocktail Bar introduced three signature drinks inspired by the OpenDots 2 color palette, adding a playful visual layer to the experience.

But the centerpiece of interaction had to be the Photo Booth. With its professional studio lighting and branded backdrops, it captured candid photos of guests wearing their OpenDots 2.

2. Product Presentation: Less Pitch, More Presence

Once everyone was settled in, there was a brief keynote presentation that discussed the Shokz philosophy behind the OpenDots series. Namely, they offer a more personal, style-conscious approach to listening, one that fits seamlessly into daily life without isolating users from their surroundings.
